This is rugby league country – so you’ll easily find a footy field to kick a ball around or take in a game during the winter season. At Lake Cargelligo, you’ll also find a picturesque cricket/AFL oval alongside the lake itself. Golf is another strong pastime here – with Condobolin’s course alongside a bowling green, croquet and squash facilities, with a ‘19th hole’ bar and bistro that includes an inviting verandah to lament the shots that got away. You’ll also find tennis facilities in most towns and indoor sports/cardio at Condo’s Willow Bend Sports Centre. However, the real gyms in these parts are of the ‘gymkhana’ variety – as part of each town’s annual picnic horse racing carnival. The whole town turns up, so you’re certainly invited!
