Tottenham

Located in the north of the Lachlan region, Tottenham’s claim to fame centres on being the geographic centre of NSW – with a rock cairn marking the spot some 30 minutes out of town. However, the town itself offers plenty for the visitor, anchored by the delightfully restored 1931 Tottenham Hotel.

A visit to the local tourist information centre will reveal souvenirs and further surprises about this small country town – including a walking trail of more than 20 historic sites. There’s also plenty of art to be found, from colourful mosaics to the 2023-painted water tank – adorned with cockatoos, goanna and other flora and fauna.

Add in a thriving community of outdoor pursuits like swimming, tennis, bowls and golf plus annual equine events and Tottenham – while a long way from its north London namesake – has a rural charm all its own. The vibrant array of birdlife certainly agrees, sharing the horizon with giant silos alongside spectacularly wide open skies.

Stay in Lachlan Shire, NSW, for outback allure, historical richness, cultural immersion, adventurous escapades, and captivating stargazing beneath pristine skies.

Witness Utes in the Paddock, embrace Wiradjuri heritage, explore vast landscapes, and stargaze under pristine skies.

Indulge in Lachlan Shire, savor outback flavors, sip local wines, and relish warm hospitality at charming eateries amid stunning vistas.
