There is plenty happening around the Lachlan Shire on Australia Day!
This year Lachlan Shire Welcomes Mr Khushaal Vyas, the Multicultural NSW Youth Medal Winner, as our Australia Day Ambassador. The Ambassador will attend celebrations in Lake Cargelligo, Burcher and Tullibigeal this year.
Mr Vyas will join the Mayor at Lake Cargelligo Sail and Power Boat Club in the morning where they will present the 2024 NSW Local citizen of the Year Awards.
Australia Day celebrations in Burcher include lunch.
In Tullibigeal, from 2pm at the Mayfield Hotel, Australia Day celebrations involve novelty events with an Aussie flair including the Yabbie Cup, a free BBQ and live music well into the night.
Fifield Pub is a great place to have lunch and participate in some competitive thong throwing.
You can also have a cooling beverage at the iconic Rabbit Trap hotel in Albert.
The swimming pool is the place to be in Tottenham for an afternoon of fun, a BBQ dinner and the announcement of the local Tottenham and Albert Australia Day Awards.
